Nevada Office Manager - Environmental Consulting Services

Our Client is seeking a strong leader with experience in the environmental and natural resources extraction industries to manage its consulting operations in Nevada. Responsibilities will include the management of our client's Elko office with a staff of 7, business development and client project work. Our client is looking for a leader, someone who likes responsibility and challenges. Proven business development capability and market familiarity are essential. Our client’s practice in its Nevada offices is diverse and includes NEPA/CEQA, baseline data collection, remediation, groundwater monitoring, and air quality projects.

Industries and clients served by our client in Nevada include mining, renewable and traditional energy generation and development, land development, construction, municipalities, and others.

Candidates must understand and have experience in the industries our client serves, notably mining and energy, as well as experience working on projects in Nevada.

This is a leadership position requiring a blend of business development, project management, office management, staff supervision, and billable project work. The focus is on providing planning, leadership, permitting and environmental consulting services to industries and municipalities throughout the state of Nevada and surrounding areas.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resources Management, Biology, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or other environmentally based scientific /engineering discipline. Appropriate professional certifications and a Master’s degree preferred.

12+ years of demonstrated capability in environmental science or engineering, and project management as applied to environmental planning, permitting and compliance, and/or engineering design.

Demonstrated record of successful business development success and/or a strong aptitude for business development is essential.

Established relationships with industry; regulatory and land management agencies such as the BLM, USFS, USACE; and state agencies.

Candidate must be able to work independently to develop consulting opportunities throughout Nevada and surrounding areas, while taking a leadership role in regional projects and business development efforts. The candidate must have the ability to develop project leads with both new and existing clients, and to lead technical staff to perform ongoing projects.

Excellent communication and technical writing skills are a must.

Our client provides competitive salary and benefits. Salary depends on experience and qualifications. Relocation expenses and other financially based compensation will be considered for the right candidate.
